Sponsorship

It is only with the support of our sponsors that the Horticultural Society of Maryland is able to bring high quality educational programming through lectures, tours, seminars, workshops and a newsletter to its members and guests at all levels of interest in horticulture. Programs include our perennial favorites such as the monthly Lecture Series (seven lectures annually with an audience of approximately 200 gardeners, landscape designers, and horticulturists), the Plant Forum, and the Annual Garden Tour. In February, we will again partner with the Perennial Plant Association to co-sponsor their Mid-Atlantic Regional Seminar.

The Horticultural Society of Maryland, Inc. is a 510-c-3 non-profit organization and donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Lecture Series at The Vollmer Center, Cylburn Arboretum

Second Tuesday of the month: 7:30 p.m.
Held in September, October, November, December; March, April and May Sponsorship Level: $150. Limited to one sponsor per lecture

The Horticultural Society of Maryland has seven meetings per year at which a featured speaker is recruited to share his or her expertise. The meetings take place on the second Tuesday in September, October, November, December, March, April and May. A combination of social interaction, education and sharing of news, the monthly meetings are well attended and cover a wide range of topics including specific plant groups, garden design, types of gardening and more.

Lecture Series Sponsors may set up a display at the Vollmer Center the evening of the sponsored lecture. Benefits to a sponsor also include exclusive interaction with and exposure to this audience including an appreciation slide on the screen with sponsor’s name and logo before and after the speaker’s presentation, and appreciation poster with logo in the entrance lobby of the Vollmer Center for the evening. Sponsors may invite up to ten guests to that evenings lecture.

In addition, our annual members-only Plant Forum program can be selected at the same sponsorship level. This happens every January at the Vollmer Center and features presenters from within our knowledgeable membership.

The Perennial Plant Association Mid-Atlantic Regional Seminar

Last Saturday in February at The Conference Center at Sheppard-Pratt Sponsor Space is limited to a total of 10 tables.
Available Sponsorship Levels: $250, $500 & $1000.

The PPA and the HSM are partnering in February for the fourth time to bring the PPA Mid-Atlantic Regional Seminar to the Baltimore area. A slate of five or six respected horticulturists will share their extensive knowledge of plant material and design.

Our winter workshops are an effective antidote for cold, gray winters. The audience is comprised of educated gardeners and designers who aspire to create and maintain green spaces at exceptionally high standards. These are the people who you most want to reach and no amount of highly targeted advertising could

ever reach so many, so effectively and, frankly, so enjoyably. The day includes lunch and time to interact with very enthusiastic plant people.

At the $250 Level: Business cards & marketing information available to the attendees; Sponsor’s logo appears on all printed workshop advertising materials after receipt of payment and on seminar programs and literature; recognition on HSM Web site; and inclusion on appreciation signage at seminar.

At the $500 Level: All of the above PLUS a separate table for company display; 2 tickets to the seminar; public verbal acknowledgement the day of the seminar.

At the $1000 Level: All of the above PLUS prime visibility location in the auditorium lobby; and complementary HSM one-year Business Membership.

Annual Horticultural Society of Maryland Garden Tour

Generally the first Sunday in June Sponsorship Level: $300.

The garden tour is one of our most popular events and draws almost 500 attendees. The tours generally include 4-6 gardens, chosen for their exceptional design and/or variety of plant material. This event is free to HSM members; non- member tickets are $40. The tour is publicized through our Web site, print ads, posters, rack cards and our own printed media. Sponsor logos appear on the HSM Web site with a reciprocal link to the sponsor’s Web site.

Each HSM member and each tour visitor receives a tour brochure/program. Sponsor logos appear on all printed materials and complete company contact information, in the form of “business card” advertisements, are printed in the brochure/program. The program contains maps to the gardens and is used as a guide throughout the day and is often saved as a reference.

Four complementary tour tickets are included in the sponsorship.
